Tudor Cisu, a 19 year old sophomore premed student at Binghamton University in New York State, knows what he wants to do with his life. The brilliant teen has already amassed considerable research credentials on his way to a promising career as a physician scientist.
Initially, Tudor Cisu interest seemed to lie with neuroscience but after spending some time at the Binghamton University’s Beaumont Bioengineering Research Laboratory, Cisu has had a change of heart and decided to focus his considerable intellect and talents in the area of heart disease research.
Tudor Cisu has even applied for the American Heart Association’s Undergraduate Student Summer Fellowship in the hopes of being able to take a closer look at a protein which has come to be associated with heart failure.
For Tudor Cisu, the attraction lies possibly being able to advance scientific medical research into heart diseases so that more lives can be saved. Cardiovascular disease still ranks as the number 1 killer in the United States even today.
